Hike at 11:00 and self led family day following.
Among the items participants can make are candles, doll-making using native materials, branding cedar rounds and the lost art of calligraphy. Additional exhibits include blacksmithing, brand designing, rope-making, shave and curl, shingle making, two-man saw bucking, spinning and weaving, and bead-making. An age old skill beneficial to individuals using modern camp stoves is learning how-to start a campfire with flint and steel in case the camp stove fails.
Enjoy musical entertainment provided by the ever popular Ol’ Time Fiddlers while eating vittles cooked over a fire and drinking hand pressed apple cider. Food and drinks are available for purchase from the Burney Lions Club. Free parking will be coordinated by the Rotary Club of Burney-Fall River and Burney Lions Club.
McArthur-Burney Falls State Park is located on Highway 89, six miles north of the intersection with State Highway 299, 11-miles northeast of Burney and 70 miles northeast of Redding.

The Visitor Center features nature, geology, cultural and recreational exhibits.

From the I-5 corridor: take U.S. 97 North at Weed towards Klamath Falls. Turn right onto California Hwy 161, also known as Stateline Road, located just north of Dorris, California and just south of the California-Oregon border. Brown highway signs mark turns leading to Lava Beds from U.S. 97 into the monument. Travel east on CA 161 through the Lower Klamath National Wildlife Refuge to Hill Road. Turn right on Hill Road at the golf course. Travel south on Hill Road nine miles until you enter Lava Beds National Monument. You will pass the visitor center for the Klamath Basin National Wildlife Refuges on your way.
It takes 1.5 to two hours to reach the Visitor Center from Weed, depending on weather and traffic.
