GECS now serving students breakfast!

Golden Eagle Charter School will be participating in the School Breakfast Program, beginning August 19, 2019. The School Breakfast Program is supported, in part by federal and state reimbursements that are based on household income and eligibility using direct certification, which is collected with enrollment.

We have been approved to implement a universal breakfast, where we serve the same breakfast to ALL students FREE of charge, during scheduled academic activities at the GECS centers. Regardless of all student receiving free meals, a notice of eligibility will be prepared and sent to all families once the new income - enrollment documents are completed. Should we find we are unable to continue universal program participation; we will notify families in advance what the price for reduced price and paid meals will cost.

GECS will offer students a nutritious meal, Monday through Friday. Food service hours are specific for each of our four learning centers.

Menu items selected to meet USDA meal component requirements include:
• Natures Bakery Fig Bars
• 1% Milk 8 oz
• Non-Fat Milk 8oz
• 100% Apple Juice 6.75 oz
• Applesauce Cups (4 oz)
• Raisins (1oz)

In order to account for the supply and demand required to provide students with a nutritious meal, we ask that you spend a moment to complete our participation survey.
