Job Corps is
America’s leading residential employment training program. Eleven Job
Corps centers in Alaska, Oregon, Washington provide training to over
4000 men and women each year. Job Corps is run by the USDA Forest
Service and the Department of Labor.
Eligible applicants are between 16 and 24, legal residents of the US, meet income guidelines, motivated and committed, and drug free.
During their
program, students receive a GED or complete their high school diploma
while learning a trade. Room and Board is provided at the site. Average
length of stay is 9 months. Some trades can take as long as 2 years,
some are as short as 6 months. Wolf Creek Center Trades include:
Auto Mechanic, Business/Clerical, Carpentry, Masonry, Painting,
Welding, Medical Assistant, Nurse Assistant, Phlebotomist, and Culinary
Arts.
