Community Meal at 8 Acres
GECS K-3rd grade students participated in a thematic unit on Peace. They discussed what peace is, how to promote peace, symbols of peace, how important it is to accept others, and how to solve conflicts in a peaceful manner. To demonstrate their understanding of peace, the students planned a dinner and invited the community. They made and served pizza, soup, and salad. After dinner, they sang a song of peace for their guests and then taught the song to everyone.
