Graduation

The graduation ceremony for the senior class takes place in the Kenneth Ford Theater, on the College of the Siskiyous campus. Usually, the commencement exercise isGraduation at the end of May.

We strive to create a personal, student-oriented graduation ceremony. We have a student-led graduation committee that chooses the theme, decorations, music, and speakers. Having an average of 40 students who participate in the ceremony, we can afford the luxury of introducing students individually, honoring their achievements, and having them say a few words to their family and friends as they accept their diplomas.

GraduationGraduating seniors are asked to contribute 3 photographs from their life that will be shown on a large screen behind them as they walk across the stage.  There is typically a “Rose Ceremony,” wherein students are able to thank families and friends for their help along the road to graduation.

Student speakers and performers are encouraged to be a part of the ceremony. Afterward, refreshments are provided in the lobby, usually cake, coffee, tea and soda.

Students are requested to contribute to one of the graduation committees (clean-up, technology, decorations, etc.). They are also asked to pay a $10 refreshment fee and $35 for the cost of the cap and gown.
