CAHSEE

All GECS students must pass both portions of the CAHSEE in order to receive their diplomas.  (Students on IEP’s may have different guidelines).

CAHSEEGECS offers diagnostic assessment of weak areas through Scantron. Scantron is a language arts and math computer based assessment given each fall and spring.  It can also be given anytime additional assessment is needed.  Scantron pinpoints weak areas, and produces worksheets to review those topics.

GECS facilitates classes and tutoring, as well as providing take home materials, to assist students in comprehending the material they need to be successful on the CAHSEE.

CAHSEE tests are given several times a year as is dictated by the CDE. Tenth graders take the test once, eleventh graders have two opportunities to test and twelfth graders have three opportunities, plus an additional summer testing if they still haven’t passed.

CAHSEEAt GECS, we like to establish a supportive, calm environment for our test takers. Many of our students have not had as many testing experiences as their traditional school counterparts.  We provide snacks and frequent breaks, as well as a lot of encouragement.
